Pawlings Privacy Policy

Alienlike technology, alienlike speed

Last updated: 6 November 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Eliance Group IT SRL (“we”, “us”) handles information in Pawlings, a virtual pet game we publish on Google Play and the Apple App Store (the “Game”). Pawlings is made for everyone, children included, and it treats children differently from older players. Both are described below.

The short version

  • We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address or phone number.
  • The Game asks for your year of birth once. It stays on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else.
  • Your pet, its name and its history are saved on your device, not on our servers.
  • Reminders about your pet are scheduled on your device. Nothing about them is sent to us.
  • The Game is free and shows adverts. There is nothing to buy.
  • Players under 13 only ever see adverts requested under Google’s child treatment, and are not measured by AppsFlyer at all.
  • Players of 13 to 15 see adverts that are not personalised, and are not asked for consent.
  • Players of 13 and over can share a picture of a moment in the Game through their phone’s own share menu. The Game sends nothing itself, and players under 13 are not offered sharing.
  • We never sell your personal data.

Information in the Game

1. Data stored only on your device

Your year of birth, your pet’s name, species, needs and age, the outfits and rooms you chose, your reminder setting, your daily-gift streak and the album of past pets are saved in your device’s local app storage. This never reaches our servers, and it is removed when you uninstall the Game.

On Android you can add the Game’s home-screen widget. It shows your pet’s name, face and needs, worked out on your device from the same local data; nothing is sent anywhere to show it.

2. Your year of birth

The first time the Game opens it asks which year you were born in. The only thing the answer does is decide which of the kinds of advertising described below applies to you. Nothing that could read an advertising identifier is started before you have answered. The year is not sent to us, to Google, to AppsFlyer or to anyone else, and the Game does not ask for your full date of birth.

3. Reminders

If you allow notifications, the Game works out on your device when your pet will next need you (hungry, sleepy, sick and so on) and asks your phone to show a reminder at that time. The reminders are created and delivered locally by your device’s operating system; we do not run a notification server and receive nothing when a reminder is shown or tapped. You can switch reminders off in the Game’s settings or in your phone’s settings at any time.

4. Advertising — Google AdMob

The Game shows an occasional full-screen advert after a finished mini-game. Adverts are supplied by Google AdMob. No advert is ever needed to look after your pet: feeding, cleaning, medicine and the lights are always free.

Versions 1.2.0 and earlier also include an optional video advert that a player can choose to watch for a bonus treat.

Players of 16 and over. To deliver, cap and measure adverts, Google may process your device’s advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA), device and app information such as model, operating system version and language, and approximate location derived from your IP address.

Players of 13 to 15. Every advert request is marked so that Google does not personalise adverts and does not use the advertising identifier for advertising — the same treatment as for younger players — and adverts are limited to those rated suitable for teenagers. No consent form is shown: in several countries where the Game is offered, consent to personalised advertising can only be given from the age of 16, so the Game does not ask for it and does not personalise. Because only the year of birth is asked, a player who might still be 15 is treated as 15.

Players under 13. Every advert request is marked for Google’s child treatment and limited to adverts rated for general audiences. Under that treatment Google does not personalise adverts and does not use the advertising identifier for advertising. Google still receives the technical information that any advert request carries, such as the IP address, device model, operating system version and language, and uses it to deliver the advert and to prevent fraud. No consent form is shown to a child.

Google’s handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy & Terms, the AdMob partner policies and Google’s description of child-directed treatment.

5. Install measurement — AppsFlyer (players of 13 and over only)

We use AppsFlyer to understand which adverts brought players to the Game, and to see anonymously how far new players get so we can improve it: whether they answered the age question, warmed and hatched their first egg, fed their pet and finished a first game, said yes or no to reminders, reached the child stage, opened daily gifts on days in a row, or added the home-screen widget. AppsFlyer processes your device’s advertising identifier, device and app information, and events such as opening the Game. It does not receive your name or contact details, your year of birth, or your pet’s name. See the AppsFlyer Services Privacy Policy.

For players under 13, AppsFlyer is never started: it receives nothing about them.

6. Sharing a moment (players of 13 and over only)

On special moments — a birthday, a new stage, a new heart with the pet’s sweetheart, a first snowman, a full sticker album — players of 13 and over see a Share button. It makes a picture on your device showing your pet, its name, the moment and the Game’s name, and opens your phone’s own share menu with that picture and a link to the Game’s store page. Nothing is shared unless you pick an app in that menu, and what happens next is governed by the app you pick. The Game uses no social media software, sends nothing to us or to anyone else, and does not record whether or where you shared. The link carries no tracking code.

Players under 13 are never shown the Share button.

7. Rating the Game (players of 13 and over only)

Now and then, after a happy moment such as a birthday, players of 13 and over may see the store’s own rating card (Google Play or the App Store). It is shown by the store, at most a few times a year and never on the first day; the Game does not see whether or how you rated it. Players under 13 never see it.

Your choices

  • Consent. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, players of 16 and over are shown Google’s consent form before personalised adverts are served, and can change their answer at any time from Settings → Privacy choices in the Game.
  • Tracking (iOS). On iOS, players of 16 and over are asked for App Tracking Transparency permission once, after the year of birth. Nothing uses your device’s advertising identifier unless you allow it; if you decline, adverts and measurement continue without it. Players under 16 are never asked and are not tracked.
  • Reminders. Switch them off in the Game’s settings, or deny the notification permission.
  • Reset or remove your advertising ID. Android: Settings → Google → Ads. iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Delete everything. Uninstalling the Game removes all data stored on your device, including the year of birth.

Children

Pawlings is suitable for children and is offered to them. It contains no chat, no user-generated content and no purchases. The one way to pass anything to other apps, sharing a picture of a moment, is offered only to players of 13 and over.

We do not collect personal information from children under 13 ourselves, and we hold no data about them on any server. For a player who tells the Game they are under 13:

  • adverts are requested from Google AdMob under its child treatment and are not personalised;
  • the advertising identifier is not used for advertising;
  • AppsFlyer is never started;
  • sharing a moment is not offered, and the store’s rating card is not shown;
  • no consent form or tracking request is shown.

Because only the year of birth is asked, a player who might still be 12 is treated as under 13.

Parents and guardians. Everything the Game stores about your child is on the device and is removed by uninstalling the Game. If you have a question, or believe a child’s information has been handled differently from what is described here, write to us at the address below and we will answer.

Legal basis and your rights

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for personalised advertising and on our legitimate interest in understanding how the Game is found and used and in showing non-personalised adverts. You have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Because we hold no account for you, requests are best directed at the identifier the advertising services use — or simply reset it, as described above.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected in the Game’s store listing.
